At the end of the season, FC St. Pauli played a fortunately completely insignificant match against VfL Bochum at the Millerntor. The team had earned the insignificance of this match over the last 33 matches. Initially, it was clear that the brown and white team wanted to contribute to the end-of-season party. But Bochum played a party-crasher with relatively little effort, winning 2-0. It was nice to see fans of both teams celebrating together at the end.
In between, we had April weather in mid-May. Rain at the start of the game, sunshine in the middle, and dark clouds again at the end. There was plenty of photography to do. And there were some beautiful choreographies to witness. Thanks to the people who put so much love and work into this.
It's also wonderful to see how relaxed and enjoyable a pitch invasion can be. A truly pleasant atmosphere on the pitch. I would have liked the team to have shown itself to the fans a little sooner after the game. But I can also understand that all the players wanted to shower first – and coach Alexander Blessin also had a press conference to hold. That just takes time...
So the season is over for the first men's team. Not yet for the first women's team. I hope you all come and try the Cup success from last year to be repeated on May 29.5th at the Hoheluft Stadium.
Until then, thank you for following my blog this season. I hope to see you again in the 2025/26 season.
Thanks for your pictures Stefan.
