Good first home game

The FC St. Pauli women's first team won't have a home game until Matchday 5 of the Regionalliga Nord. This match, in front of a large crowd, would take place against the league leaders from Henstedt-Ulzburg. Since the brown and white team is currently bottom of the table, the signs before the match were pretty clear. It was a good game with chances for both sides, but no goals.

The Mainz fans' chants of support for St. Pauli from the bunker were wonderful. Also lovely were the many neutral football fans who stopped to watch the high level of football as they passed between the Feldarena and the bunker. And of course, it was wonderful to see so many fans make their way to the sidelines in the cold, wet, and windy weather.

In any case, it was a good first home game. We can definitely build on this performance against the strong league leaders.

The first women's team's next home game will take place next Sunday, October 12th, at 1:30 PM against Hannover 96. Feel free to come along next time—admission is free.
