Finally, football is back. And what a game it is! FC St. Pauli wrested a crucial point from Champions League contender Borussia Mönchengladbach. The brown and white team did it in impressive style. Even an unfortunate deficit shortly before halftime didn't throw the team off course. The equalizer shortly before the end of the game was absolutely deserved.
Before the game, I was in contact with a friend and Gladbach fan who had already guessed the result. But certainly not how it came about. As always, Millernton did an excellent job summarizing and analyzing the game.
Before the game, I once again had the pleasure of getting Serdi and Ole from the game vlog "Trust Me Blindly" in front of my lens. I recently took a picture of the two of them, and the situation led to a photo in which Ole covered Serdi's eyes. Serdi didn't have a problem with this, after all, he's blind, and took it in good humor. Nevertheless, there were some critical voices. That's why we decided to reverse this this time. I think the result is funny – but see for yourself.
Back to the game: the lighting conditions on and around the pitch were extreme. That's why I moved from my usual spot during the first half. During the second half, I briefly considered whether to sit in my usual spot for this direction of play and photograph directly into the light, or whether to sit to the side. I chose my usual spot and was rewarded with the goal celebration in front of my camera. It was almost as beautiful as it was back then with Elias Saad. Thanks, Dapo!
Thanks also to the DFL. After far too long, my sweetheart and I had Vacation planned. Of course, we had to determine the key dates before the DFL could commit to the exact matchday schedule. However, this worked out perfectly for us. Last home game on Friday, this one on a Sunday – the DFL couldn't have scheduled the match days better for us. We used the international break in between for a short trip through Japan. Are you interested in pictures and impressions? Feel free to leave a comment.
Here are the pictures from the great game against Mönchengladbach on Sunday.
The intensity on the pitch gives us hope for the rest of the season. Six matches left – let's go!
Photos and impressions from Japan? I definitely want to see them! 🙂
Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures. It was wonderful to see you again.
The joy was all mine!
