In the first game of the new Bundesliga season, FC St. Pauli did not take advantage of its chances against 1.FC Heidenheim and lost 0:2 at their home stadium, Millerntor.
The brown-and-whites certainly had their chances to score - after the now usual sleepy first 15 to 20 minutes. In the first league, however, you have to take advantage of the few scoring opportunities, otherwise the opponent will do it. The greater intensity of the Bundesliga was also noticeable. I had the feeling that they lacked freshness in the middle of the second half. But that could also be because Heidenheim had scored the goal shortly before that FC St. Pauli couldn't manage today.
Before this sounds too negative: St. Pauli played well. There was more in it and the performance gives us hope for the rest of the season. Nobody expected the brown-whites to play as confidently as the team in the lower league. And last season didn't get off to a great start there either. And besides: the duck is shitting at the back. The goal remains to stay in the league.
Now there are two away games and an international break. The next home game is not until the end of September against Leipzig - on a Sunday at 19:30 p.m.
Yes, from about the 72nd minute onwards - also because of the surprising (?) first goal - the team's strength and concentration seemed to wane a little. But the team fought again. I thought that was good.
Thanks for the photos!
We didn't have to hide the whole game. It's amazing how you can easily see where things are headed in the first Bundesliga game. All in all, it was a good game that we can build on.
PS I'm curious when the first "Ugly" shirts will be printed? 😂
FORZA 🤎🤍☠️🏳️🌈
Thanks for your great pictures as always.
Unfortunately, the caption “Who is to blame for the 0:1?” is a little unfortunate in my opinion, as the picture shows the moment when the boys, initiated by Hauke, approach each other to give each other an encouraging high five. But that should not diminish my gratitude 🙂
You are right, of course, but no one is pointing the finger at anyone else.
