FC St. Paulis 1. Women get three important points

FC St. Paulis 1. Frauen get three important points on the 19th matchday of the 2023/24 season in the Regionalliga Nord against the team from Bremen from ATS Buntentor. The success was particularly important because FC Jesteburg-Bendestorf already scored a point against Meppens U20 yesterday. The team from the other side of the Weser also won today against TuS Büppel. This means that the first women from FC St. Pauli have a 9 point lead over Büppel and also three match days before the end of the season FC Jesteburg-Bendestorf with a significantly better goal difference at the same time.

Under the eyes of Jackson Irvine, the 4-1 success of the FC St. Pauli 1. Women team was more than deserved. Anso Greifenberg even missed a penalty. However, she scored 1-0 before the break and 2-0 after the break. In doing so, she made a preliminary decision. She was also a constant source of trouble in Buntentor's defense. Julia Hechtenberg made it 3-0. Emma Frings came on as a substitute against Anso Greifenberg and needed 8 minutes on the pitch to also get on the scoresheet. It was only shortly before the final whistle that Buntentor's Azevedo scored the next goal.

Throughout the entire game, FC St. Pauli 1. Frauen impressed with their good positioning and quick transition play. Buntentor only rarely got in front of the brown and white team's goal. The defense of the opponents from Bremen had more to do than they would have liked. At the end of the first half, the goalkeeper told her coach, visibly annoyed, that "the balls always come back so quickly."

Vanessa Fischer from ATS Buntentor was seriously injured in a duel without there being a foul. Nevertheless, I would like to wish you a speedy recovery at this point.

FC St. Pauli 1. Women still have two home games in the remaining three matches of the 2023/24 season. Maybe you'll also take a look at the field arena. Next Saturday, May 11th, we will play against SV Meppen U13 at 20 p.m. And fourteen days later on May 26th, the final matchday will take place against Werder Bremen II at 14 p.m. The journey is worth it.
