Colorful game, but only in the stands

The Bundesliga match on matchday 8 between FC St. Pauli and VfL Wolfsburg was a colorful game, at least in the stands, thanks to the many rainbow colors. We have Wolfsburg player Kevin Behrens to thank for the memory of a diverse society, who expressed his extremely unpleasant opinion. You can do that, but then you shouldn't be surprised if people outside your own mental Neanderthal bring him into the current millennium.

It was nice to see that Wolfsburg goalkeeper Kamil Grabara also wore the captain's armband in rainbow colours. It was nice to hear that the Wolfsburg team was greeted by the stadium management with "Over the Rainbow". Even Braunschweig fans hung a big anti-Behrens banner on the fence during their game - although that certainly has something to do with their antipathy towards the small town next door.

The renewed goalless draw despite the lively game at Millerntor gives FC St. Pauli another point in the fight to avoid relegation. We will only know then whether that will be enough against a beatable Wolfsburg team at the end of the season. Everyone was still quite confident after the last goalless draw at a home game, but yesterday's game left some question marks.

And of course, some fans will be calling for a striker again. Apart from the fact that the brown and white team were – surprisingly for me – offensively positioned yesterday, strikers don’t grow on trees. Did you see yesterday in the Classico how often Mbappé ran alone towards the Barcelona goalkeeper and still didn’t score? But the discussion is not new: I like to remind you to this beautiful action by Marius Ebbers in favor of Viva con Agua 2013. It was a total coincidence that he was in the stadium yesterday.
