At the beginning there was the idea of presenting the somewhat more comprehensive topic of sports photography and its evaluation in the DFL's hygiene paper in a slightly different form. That's why today it's not a blog post in the actual sense, but a YouTube video. However, if I had known how much effort it takes to write a first novel, I might have just written a few lines.
Compared to a photo, a lot of things are new: new light, new sound, new editing program, new things to try out. And then at the very end the export doesn't work because the project settings for the bit rate in the audio channel are not correct. I haven't figured out why this doesn't cause any problems in the editing program on the computer, but only when exporting - and ultimately it doesn't matter to me now. Anyway, I learned a lot...
So here is my debut work. (And I really have no idea where these sound dropouts still come from...)
If you want to delve a little deeper into the subject, I can Recommend this article from the German Journalists Association on the allocation of the three photographer positions on the field. Further discussions about hygiene paper are noted there.
In any case, it's all pretty crap what professional football is currently doing. The problem of the few sports photographers is of course just a side note. But I thought the effects might also be of interest to you. And if it just serves to let you know that it's not my fault that there are none of my pictures from the Magic FC game on the blog today - just like usual.
I won't watch the game itself afterwards either. It has nothing to do with the game that has occupied and captivated me for so long. Currently I'm just sorry about my archive.
Hopefully we'll all see each other in the new season and be in each other's arms again...
Hello, Stefan. Now I'm anything but a football enthusiast. And yet I found your post insightful and exciting.
Yes, we are certainly being fooled a lot under the pretext of Corona, it starts with the pressure at the checkout to please stop paying in cash - because of hygiene. It's not about hygiene, it's about money. Because paying by card is simply cheaper.
We all have to be careful that such excesses as you describe are eliminated. But anyone who wants to can understand why you're not a club photographer at FC St. Pauli. The club should correct this as quickly as possible. After all, he is the most humane of the clubs. And in your pictures you can see the passion for this club. So what more does he want?
Greetings from the North
Kai
