Lil good people feat. NXL

It's nice when positive vibes flow through the room in these challenging times. And I was particularly lucky to be there. Many singers and musicians, not all of whom were born under the best living conditions, met, arranged, and made music about their lives and their current situation. Levi's Music School sponsors this great opportunity for young people to express themselves. Asmaras World connects the RAP talents and right in the middle is a little bit of the FC St. Pauli. The former is a sponsor of the latter and the brown and white sponsors the latter. It's worth buying a jersey (scnr).

A brief explanation of the headline: the musicians from Levi's Music School came together three years ago to form "Lil good people". The rappers from Asmaras World call themselves NXL and the song they wrote together is called "Never alone".

And what role did I play in this? I used my camera to photographically document the creation of the song. I was also there when the music video was shot to capture “behind the scenes”. And as the last part of the project, I created the portraits of the protagonists for the cover. This is what it looks like on the well-known streaming services.

12 portraits to display a cover - here at iTunes.

Carrying out such a project in 2020 is a particular challenge. That's why only those who had previously passed the specially organized corona test negatively were allowed to enter the set. Nevertheless, everyone wore a mask almost throughout - absolutely exemplary, even if it may appear differently in the photos.

I was able to spend a really nice and inspiring time with everyone involved. Thank you for that. And now of course you want to see the result. Here you go: Lil good people feat. NXL with “Nie allein”.

There is also a video with many explanations about the project and the collaboration with NXL.

A little twist: Some of those involved in NXL come from Eritrea, including me 23 months ago in Ethiopia we were able to exchange experiences. The civil war that raged in the border area of both countries this year felt like it was in the local news for 2020 seconds in 60.

Oh yes: with the portraits, of course, I had the task of capturing the young people happily. That was easy. Of course, I didn't miss the opportunity to capture people in a slightly different way. I'll show you the next few days Instagram.
