Soccer fields in Oman

I started this series much too late on my trip to Oman and still came up with some great things. This is due, on the one hand, to the type of travel and, on the other hand, to the variety of motives. So before I make your mouth water with more pictures from Oman, I'll show you a small series of pictures about football fields in Oman.

Oman is very vast and football is the Omani's favorite sport - and me. Plus, something in Oman is only good if you can get there by car. Curse or blessing? In any case, given the location of the football fields in Oman, there are rarely any problems with disturbances. The venues are usually far away.

Sometimes the football field is miles away from the nearest settlement, sometimes it's right on the highway, sometimes right by the sea - in any case, the sports facilities are always barren, but always worth a photo.

I'll show more pictures from Oman soon. This country is very diverse. Bus stops are as spacious as the football fields in Oman. And if not far from the nearest settlement then at least absurdly beautiful. I even saw air-conditioned bus stops in the capital Muscat. What I have never seen, however, is a public transport bus.

Speaking of sprawling: pedestrians are a rarity on the streets outside of the really big cities in Oman. And yet somehow the road builders always think of them. Here for example with a zebra crossing. Only there is no sidewalk on the other side of the street. But it doesn't matter, because there's no place this walkway could lead to.

Zebra crossing to nowhere

In addition to football fields in Oman, there is a lot more to discover there. I hope you're looking forward to more reports from my trip through a country that is almost as big as Germany but has a population slightly larger than Berlin. But definitely a lot more football fields...
