The game between FC St. Pauli and 1. FC Köln is quickly told: great choreo(s), great atmosphere and support from the brown and white team, good fighting performance on the pitch, but of course a terrible level. Before the game I had predicted 0:2, so the result doesn't surprise me. But very much how it comes about. Just because it was 2-0 surprisingly quickly for the right team, you can't continue to play as if you left the field 5-0 today? The opponent is ultimately the favorite for promotion. And so you end up running into two counterattacks - even though everyone knows that the opponent's non-existent full-backs are often used for quick runs on the flanks. So two each – before and after halftime. Cologne's 5th goal is a gift because it's all or nothing in stoppage time. Defeats like this drive me crazy because they are unnecessary and yet foreseeable.
What I liked about the game: the volume at the Millerntor – did the South really chant “wake up, wake up” towards the opposite straight at the beginning of the game? And of course the fighting performance of the brown and whites: even if in the last quarter of an hour they only played high and wide.
Now it's the international break and the energy stores can be recharged. A threesome must follow in Aue...

...even though a number of Cologne fans patted me on the back because of FCSP's fighting performance, such a defeat still feels bitter.
After the 2-0 you can just run into counterattacks like that! The class difference was clearly visible this time, especially in the reversal game when winning the ball. For us it's usually wide and high to a point in the middle. Cologne quickly moves forward with several players.
Of course it was a spectacle, but in the end there was still a lot of frustration!
