Recently - I think it was back in September - I met with Björn for a little Sunday walk. Of course we had the cameras with us. However, I currently have so much on my hard drive that I decided to take analogue photos. This has the advantage that after a leisurely session I don't spend any more time sitting in front of the computer than I already do. There are really very good laboratories that also do the scanning. So I only have to wait a few days and I can look at my pictures. The rework is almost zero. I have very good experiences with https://www.meinfilmlab.de .
The disadvantage of an analogue round is of course that you use film sparingly. But maybe that is also an advantage. In any case, the motives didn't appeal to me this Sunday. Happens, whatever – I have to function when I get paid to do it. When I'm out and about with the camera in my free time, I can have fun. And when chatting with a good friend, the spoken word is more important than the photo taken.
However, there are triggers in the motif chamber of my brain that, when visually addressed, simply leave even my best friend standing. This Sunday I noticed an open car whose owner obviously didn't know exactly what to do with his car. As luck would have it, I only had to take a few steps, quickly focus the 35mm on my Nikon FM2 and shoot.
The situation hardly lasted longer than described here. The gentleman in white didn't stop in the disabled parking space, but quickly got back into the traffic. But exactly at the moment of my release he put his butt on the doorpost to ash and glanced slightly at me. Everything fit and I had my picture of the day in the box.
When I later saw the Ektar 100 film image fully developed, I had a slight suspicion that I had photographed Santa Claus. White suit, white beard – maybe he too had unwinded on his day off.
It was a nice Sunday walk. Certainly also for the gentleman in his car...
Very nicely written and also a great picture.
