At 18 p.m. sharp yesterday, the hectic hustle and bustle gave way to the anticipation of what was to come. The gates opened for the pre-opening of the Millerntor Gallery #7. And the invited guests gave the artists their curiosity and interest. Soon the exhausted faces of the exhibitors changed to wide grins of joy.
For the first time I had the pleasure of not just being an onlooker with my camera, but also being right in the middle of it as a designer of a wall. The last few days and especially nights were full of hardship and without my support dearest, as well as Eberhard and Bjorn I certainly wouldn't have gotten the project to the wall in time. As I was completely tired and wanted to add the final details, the frenzied cameraman Noah suddenly stood in front of me and handed me the Millerntor Gallery microphone. You can see the result above. At least I didn't have to sing...
And then I meet old friends, listen to the first musical sounds, watch the goings-on at the auction...
The first guests took part in guessing my nationalities photo project tried and I got into conversations with many visitors about everyday racism. Ultimately, what prevailed yesterday was the joy that so many happy faces make Hamburg so beautiful - completely independent of the state name and color on the passport. That's how it should be after all...
Today it officially starts Millerntor Gallery #7 – The gates open at 18 p.m. Until Sunday evenings are in the heart of Hamburg many wonderful and unique works of art to see. It's worth it - and with your visit you'll also be supporting Viva con Agua's next water projects. If you would like to know what happens to your money, I can recommend my picture presentation on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Millerntor Gallery. On the stage on the portico between the south and the main I report on my trips with Viva con Agua to Uganda and Nepal in 2016. And I also show a few football pictures...
I'll be happy if you stop by!
