Good Friday at the Hamburg Cathedral

I've always wanted to do this: Good Friday at the Hamburg Cathedral. Everything is set up in all its glory, but no one is there. For some reason, our oh-so-progressive society is still so secularized that no one is supposed to have fun on Good Friday - when Brian supposedly died on the cross whistling a happy song. Understand that whoever wants.

In any case, this situation almost creates a "lost place" in the middle of the city. The only thing missing is the tall grass that overgrows the rides. If a clown were to suddenly appear out of nowhere, it could be a film adaptation of a Steven King novel.

In any case, I was drawn to Hamburg Cathedral with two friends on Good Friday. Originally I wanted to photograph the strong colors of the fair in bright sunshine. But since it was Hamburg weather, I put my last two Ilford HP5+ in the magazines of my Hasselblad and took photos in dreary black and white. Also fits…

But there is one good thing about this Good Friday at Hamburg Cathedral: it is so beautifully quiet...
