That's my ass. No invitation.

Finally this poster series is hanging, which has a lot of my heart and soul in it. But of course not just from me. The whole project is voluntary work by everyone involved and that's why I'm pleased that I've only received positive feedback so far. To mark its 36th anniversary, the Hamburg specialist advice center for raped women and girls is launching a poster campaign together with the athletes from the Harbor Girls from FC St. Pauli Rollerderby, which will be displayed in the city for four weeks from March 7th on cultural pillars, on construction fences and in underground areas. and S-Bahn stations as well as take-home postcards in displays throughout the city.

Last autumn I met some of the Harbor Girls team for the first time in the premises of the emergency advice center. An interesting evening where I learned a lot about the work of Women's emergency call have learned. In order to support the valuable advisory work, posters should be developed that bring the roller derby sport and its strong image of women to the fore. We brainstormed relatively quickly from my photos of the last bouts developed good sayings. After a short layout session, it quickly became clear that the photos on posters would not work despite the good slogans. The problem was that roller derby is (unfortunately and wrongly) too unknown to arouse the right associations in the casual observer. What followed were a few weeks in which ideas were exchanged via email and at further meetings we put together the pieces we had found together to form a larger whole. In January I used a Harbor Girls training session for a parallel photo shoot. I posted a teaser as part of my 366 series, you remember?

At a final meeting, the texts and images were finalized – at least in rough form. Josh took over the retouching of the images, Birgit laid out everything, Daniela had the motifs approved by the club and last Thursday everything was unveiled at a ceremony in the bunker. Unfortunately I couldn't be there, because yes FC St. Pauli was playing at the same time and for that I'll be angry with Sport 1 for a long time.

After all, the Hamburg Journal and also Hamburg 1 reported. In some newspapers the pictures were shown together with the press release for the 36th anniversary of the women's emergency call. And now the three motifs can be seen in many places in Hamburg.

For me it's a very nice piece of work, even if the reason for this poster campaign is actually sad. In 2016, men should have gradually understood that women are people and not a projection surface for male fantasies that they may also implement with violence.

The Harbor Girls' next sporting event will be next Saturday in the sports hall on Budapester Strasse. The 2016 roller derby season starts with a double bout. Come in large numbers!
