U23 wins against Braunschweig

FC St. Pauli - Eintracht Braunschweig

Before the game between FC St. Pauli and Eintracht Braunschweig, I had a bad feeling because I really hate losing against Braunschweig. When I read in the lineup that Startsev and Kurt were in the starting team, I was reassured.

On the one hand, Meggi knows the boys particularly well, on the other hand, Startsev would have played for a long time if he hadn't gotten a red card in the second team and I was also sure that the two of them had the chance to play in the first team not because of a lack of interest would ruin the game.

The change in tactics from the hurrah attack game to "The zero must stand" was the other clever move by the clever trainer Meggle. In the style of an away team in the bottom third of the table, FC St. Pauli closed the spaces for the good but unimaginative Braunschweig team at the back. The rest was held by a well-disposed Tschauner. Up front, Verhoek ran himself out of breath and made small pinpricks. Boring to watch for the spectators, but clever for the points. Especially thanks to the top scorer Lasse Sobiech 🙂

The FC St. Pauli fans sang their hearts out about the boredom of the game and so the early evening turned into a successful performance.

My personal highlight was the lack of reaction from the stewards to the speedster, who personally congratulated Philipp Tschauner on his good performance shortly before the end of the game. The folders will definitely go down in history as being fundamentally likeable. They should apply to the FIFA competence team...

By the way, my favorite picture is Mr. Verhoek, who gave his blue shadow a friendly wink shortly before the end of the game. Actually says everything about this game.

And then, well after the game was over, I was able to see my mini-picture series on the topic “Lawn care at Millerntor“ by one chapter.

  1. Beautifully written and illustrated! I was so relieved after the game, I was really afraid it was going to the bottom. Now I'm more optimistic again. Kringe was great again!
