Roller Derby: Hamburg vs Stuttgart

The last week was extremely turbulent. That's why I'm only now getting around to showing the pictures from the last roller derby bout. And I apologize for this delay. The duel between Hamburg Harbor Girls and Stuttgart Valley Rollergirlz was once again a hot duel.

There were actually two bouts that day. I came to the Sea Gals duel against the Royal Army Stockholm because of that football game too late.

Somehow that wasn't the Hamburgers' day: everything was lost. That didn't dampen the good atmosphere in the stadium area, aka the Christianeum sports hall.

Although I already have that here a or else Evil Pictures from Roller derby shown, but I was recently asked by an interested blog reader (name known to the editors) what the aim of the game was: to overtake opponents first. Since a maximum of five opponents run in the oval, there are also five points per round. Well, at least almost. The rules are a bit more complex. But they will be explained during the game by the wonderful stadium announcer. Tactical finesse can be recognized after the fourth or fifth visit at the latest 😉

At the penultimate bout he has NDR a very magical contribution shot that captures the fascination of the sport well.

There will probably be no bout in Hamburg this year because the players are preparing for the World Cup. At least four Harbor Girls players are members of the German national team. This shows what a high level the girls from FC St. Pauli are playing at. The Blood & Thunder Roller Derby World Cup will take place from December 4th to 7th in Dallas (US). and will be broadcast live on ARD and ZDF.

But you definitely have to go there next year…
I just found out that the second team – the Hamburg Sea Gals – will be on December 6.12th. fights against Berlin in the hall of the St. Pauli business high school on Budapester Strasse. So: everyone there!
