More and more often I manage to get a Leica image published. Mainly in print products related to Sankt Pauli, but also for example at spiegel.de I cheated a few. Or at blog-meets-ball. For me that is still something special. That's why I'm happy to have a photo featured in Germany's most widely circulated daily newspaper. Another one that I took with the Leica Noctilux-M f1/0.95 50mm ASPH.
I owe this to Sandra Schwedler's absence at the annual general meeting of FC St. Pauli last Sunday and at the same time to her great voting results in the election to the supervisory board. Congratulations at this point for receiving the most votes in this ballot.
Since Sandra was on assignment in Argentina, the interested newspapers could not access the material from the major agencies that accompanied the AGM. I, on the other hand, was also present at the club's internal candidate presentation around two weeks before the annual general meeting. I simply took my little Leica with me and pressed the shutter every now and then from the second row.
Of course, this isn't necessarily an absolute blast. Or maybe yes? On the one hand, it shows once again that only if you have the picture that is urgently wanted do you have a chance of being printed in the journalistic product. On the other hand, I'm secretly happy about the quality of it Noctilux. From the look of the image, aka the focus, you probably wouldn't have thought that I photographed it with a 50mm focal length. That's why I'll just show you the original image, because the versions above are cropped accordingly - at the top you can also see the sent file.
The sharpness gradient, which gives the illusion of a different focal length, comes from the aperture of 1.2 used - yes, sorry, I stopped down. And you see once again how powerful 24 megapixels are for printing in a daily newspaper. Despite all the technical nonsense, only one thing is important: sharpness. Without this sharpness, even Sandra's best photo would not have been printed. But that mentioned I already...
Sorry for once again waxing lyrical about the Leica – Noctilux combination. This very uncompromising combination convinces me just as often as it makes me despair.
Why???
dimmed? crackhead. 🙂
Great job, I don't know whether we should congratulate you on the picture, I hope it at least pays off financially!
it does 🙂
Let's be honest, I don't need a Leica for this picture. Point.
true. That's what it says in the text too.
I find your enjoyment of the Leica and the Noctilux as well as your positive presentation refreshingly pleasant. Unfortunately, the red dot seems to be a red flag for some and arouses resentment - a shame.
Continue to have fun with the Leica and the Noctilux
I can understand your joy and am happy for you. Especially since I find that Leica products have many strengths. But these systems are less said to be suitable for press products. Do your pictures only go out into the world via agencies or are you also asked directly, as was the case with the article about roller derby in Spiegel, whether you could provide pictures on a topic?
Thank you and both ways are possible 🙂
>> since I didn't buy the boring set normal lens (for the Nikon Df), what should I photograph with it? << NO, not my opinion! But you can also think that way if you wear blinders and have a big board in front of your head 😉
And then some HHler comes along and simply sells a good press photo. That doesn't work at all! And then also a section - Ugh... Imagine the celebrations if you had simply said - delete the EXIFs beforehand 😉 - you would have taken this photo with a 2/200. You would definitely receive even more praise!
The one that only has a 1,4/50 AF rod 😉 Greetings from Bonn
Ralf
Regardless of whether it's a great picture or not, it's definitely good publicity. Bravo!
and today you are in the Hamburger Abendblatt with the photo – without credit… grmph
LG Andreas
Thanks for the tip. Fortunately, payment can also be made without credit… 😉
People today are simply too cowardly to take photos with the Leica.
Nice perspective 🙂
Nice ! And that also corresponds to my experiences with using the Leica in a professional environment... https://sventetzlaff.com/index.php/home/fotografie/10-fotografie/98-leica-m-240-im-beruflichen-einsatz-ii
