This morning I was thanked Kwerfeldein draw your attention to special documentation. John G. Morris is a photo editor and can look back on a long, successful career. He was born in 1916 and tells the story in his book "Get the Picture" about his view of photojournalism.
Fortunately, there is now a filmic approach to his life free to watch. A massive look back at World War II, Vietnam, 9/11, Capa, Bresson, Nachtwey, Life, Magnum, NY Times and the changes in photojournalism over time. Some images in the film show the brutality of war very clearly. And the film also gives a little insight into the souls of the photographers who document the suffering.
72 minutes that are really worth it. Not just because it shows a special perspective on photography...
Thanks for the tip! (y)
