Football is everything – even gay

To the wonderful song by Marcus Wiebusch "The day will come" I already said that. When crowdfunding the music video, one of the thank yous was a football match against people from the record label "Grand Hotel van Cleef". This match took place on Saturday.

What was nice about this football game was that Marcus Wiebusch's team played against a mixed team. Mixed teams are otherwise only available at Blind football, but then in the Bundesliga and not just in friendly matches. The opposing team played under the banner of "gay-lesbian team", but logically sexual preference played no role at all in this encounter. Why should it?

FC St. Pauli stadium announcer legend Rainer Wulff led the afternoon between the bunker and the north curve in a confident and amusing manner. It was a very even game that ended 1-1. However, the GHvC team hit the post with the final whistle.

In addition to many goal scenes, the highlight of the game was the referee's free kick spray. It underlined the professional nature of the game.

Seriously: togetherness was much more important than anything else that afternoon. In any case, I had a great time. Luckily, those present also moved slowly enough that I was able to capture a few images with my small manual lens.

  1. Hi Stefan,

as usual: very nice photos of you and an accurate comment about the whole afternoon, which didn't just consist of a football game.
Hopefully even more joy for all of us tomorrow evening?!? (two question marks and one exclamation mark…..or would you rather be a little more confident!?!)

    Best regards,

    Rainer
