For the fourth time I had the pleasure of working in Cannes for a few days and for the first time I was able to carve out a few hours before the return flight to wander the streets of Cannes without an assignment and capture a few impressions with my camera.
I was lucky because I couldn't sleep again. But instead Selfies in the hotel To take photos, I set out before breakfast with the Leica M and the Noctilux and watched the picturesque village when I woke up. I saw the removal of party remnants from the night before and how the intoxication from the night was jogged away. At the market, locals stocked up on fresh information, fresh vegetables and fresh fish.
After a hearty breakfast in the sun on the terrace of the lovely and family-run hotel βAlbert 1stβ I first tidied up my room and then took a last walk along the Boulevard de la Croisette. At the end of the 2km long street with a permanent view of the Mediterranean, I met a cheerful fisherman who spoke 5 languages, but unfortunately not mine. In fact, I wish I could speak more than just three words of French. The people I asked, pointing rather than speaking, whether I could take their photos were mostly very positive. I would have loved to find out more about life in Cannes from them.
Of course, the images from this short period of time are not a reflection of Cannes. But I have often experienced the place as in the pictures: sun-drenched, happy, colorful, a touch too rich and a touch too old.
However, sometimes I think I'm a little sick: after two days of continuous photography, I voluntarily get up early to take photos. But being out and about with the camera just makes me happy. It gives me more than just a good reason to get involved with other people...

nice... now I really envy you!
What was the water temperature? π
Chic, chic! π
How boring β just a normal lens π
Damn! You're forcing me to leave two "big" zooms in the holiday home and only go out with the 50 mm Nikkor π
Ralf
(with only f/1,4, which doesn't crop as nicely as f/0,95 π
If it makes you feel any better: not all of the pictures were taken with the aperture wide open. But the ND3 was a good investment π
Beautiful!! <3 Kind of jealous right now... π
Very nice. Thank you for showing me!
Lg,
Werner
Thanks for watching π
Nice capture π
thx
Pretty rich colors. Did you turn it or does the Leica do it that way?
I would say: both π
Hi Stefan, on this stupid, gray, wet day, pictures like this are just right. The mood comes across as really chilled out and awakens longings... You can sleep and take selfies when you're back home, but you can't capture such impressions. π
50mm <3
Hey Stefan,
the small street in picture 17 I also walked down to the harbor/beach two years ago and when I discovered the picture I thought, "ha, you know that corner"...
