The good news first: Florian Mohr plays through 90 minutes again. He already managed that against Oldenburg, but that was an away game. Very few of us could see that.
I really liked his positional play. That was sorely necessary because FC St. Pauli only played with ten men from the 64th minute onwards. In the 1-on-1 game, Philipp Ziereis hooked a Weiche Flensburg player with his arms, first knocking his opponent out of step and then depriving him of a very good chance to score. The red card that followed was entirely justifiable. It's a shame that a player ran through my picture, otherwise I could have shown you the scene. That's what happens when you try to take photos across the entire playing field with a focal length of 400mm.
The zero points from the 1-0 win in the 88th minute didn't have to be because FC St. Pauli played the better game.
Anyone who is not going to Kaiserslautern next Saturday can support the U23s at the same place at the next away game. Yes, you read that right: same stadium, but an away game! They are playing against Victoria Hamburg. In my opinion, the boys deserve more support than the "13 paying visitors," as the grumpy groundskeeper hissed at me before the game. With similar support to that usual at the Millerntor, the U23s from FC St. Pauli would probably have scored more points against Weiche Flensburg. Unfortunate defeat...
