Monday evening: FC St. Pauli against 1. FC Köln

FC St. Pauli loses its Monday evening game against 1. FC Köln 0-1. I would like to start my reflection with the positive side effects of the match day. More precisely: with my observations this Monday evening.

The team fought. It wasn't a pretty fight, but it was very St. Pauli-like. And in the middle of the second half, something like something happened in the new Millerntor, which had over 29000 spectators for the first time Roar on. The atmosphere that characterized the old Millerntor - i.e. without the magnificent buildings in the south, in the main stand and the new back straight - and the team for such memorable battles as 20012 in the victory against the overpowering Bayern.

That was the case again on Monday evening. I would have liked to have enjoyed this longer. That was strong and certainly came across on the pitch. If the team were to shoot towards the goal every now and then, that would certainly help the atmosphere in the stands. But others already have it that way appropriately noted.

The artificial light is also great in the new Millerntor. It's crazy how bright it can be on the pitch. ISO1600 in a floodlit game! Hammer! And even better: no light drop of almost two f-stops when a player is standing at the corner flag. That is really good. And I also think that the light casts beautiful contours on our players. Taking photos is really fun.

By the way, I really like the game the first leg remind. Only this time there was a well-taken free kick.

  1. Hello Stefan

ISO 1600 means? Aperture f/2,8 and 1/500 to 1/1000? I would be interested as an “indoor basketball player”…

    Many greetings from Bonn

    Ralf

  2. This realization came to me after two missions in Cologne. 🙂 Floodlight: great pictures, much easier to photograph. Has the light in the new Millerntor changed that much?

  3. The front tick picture is terrific! The guy looks so stern, I personally would score a goal straight away just to make him smile... 😉

It's a shame that the picture from behind the goal wasn't taken during the free kick in the 3rd minute, then it would certainly have been picture of the year... in Cologne.
