Can you still remember my bike? To last October for “We Are Traffic“ photographed. It was already in a bad condition and over the long winter it completely rusted...
The closer spring came, the more I wanted something new. However, I did like my good old trekking frame. After all, it took me over the Alps to Lake Garda many years ago. The 67 cm height automatically gives any thieves of normal height blue balls thanks to the high crossbar - a very good theft protection. So I took the old two-wheeled cucumber to the well-known good bicycle shop "Suicycle“ After having the frame measured by a specialist, I knew that everything would be new, except the frame. Et voilá: here is my new old bike!
My bike is now brown and white, only has one gear, toxic but easy-to-control brakes and almost rolls itself.
All images were taken with the Fuji X-E1 with 35mm f/1.4.
67 frame? I get scared... 😉
It turned out crazy. For real. And as we all know, handlebars are a matter of taste 😉
I'm happy, that you like it. And there always has to be room for improvement 😉
With just one gear you would go crazy here with us. Either because of the slope or the wind.
But chic! And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that any thieves will try to drive on it before throwing it in their van :)
The gear ratio is chosen quite well and the rolling resistance of the tires also helps 🙂
Admit it: you only had that done so that someone could clean the old bike.
Also 😉
It's a shame, I liked the old chain color better... 😉
It comes by itself... 😉
Wow – even personalized! This is theft-proof! And above all, trés chic! Guess I'll have to visit the boys sometime!
Nice that you like it. And the boys are always worth a visit...
Nice and simple. Last year I had my old MTB frame refurbished and screwed a new bike onto it.
Recycling is probably in 🙂
The open sprocket is more suitable for shorts...
But it’s still pretty 🙂
I'll get back to you when the first pair of long pants are worn out...
I've been riding open sprockets for 20 years, my pants are more likely to break in the crotch than in the leg 😉
The handlebar man, the handlebar 😀
Otherwise, send!
What about the handlebars?
... a real stylo handlebar is just what you need or has that classic 30s look. You can find those things in Denmark...
Sure, but with straight handlebars there would be too much weight on my arms. You can see how high the saddle is. And it wasn't supposed to be a racing bike. 🙂
…Dutch bike handlebars for the old man then? 😯
😉
Don’t forget the kidney warmer 🙂
it also covers up a little bit where a washboard used to be 😎
At Max-Brauer-Allee, they didn't want to recycle my frame, but wanted to sell me a new one, but Hauke from TOOL Bikes on "Strese" encouraged me to take the old frame back and I only regretted it when I realized that the powder coater had not removed any rust after stripping it and had simply sprayed powder over it. The idiot who sold his shop months later...
...is available in all areas...
nice! Nice paint job!
But why didn't you get a retro Brooks saddle?
Wouldn't it have looked great in dark brown?
Because my dealer said that the Brooks saddles aren't as good as they used to be...
very cool. 🙂
