I recently gave you mine Favorite wedding picture shown. That may have come as a bit of a surprise to you among all the sports photos. I don't have a typical wedding photographer blog. In terms of marketing, I probably do everything wrong that the textbooks for wedding photographers recommend. So I'm taking the opportunity to write here that I love photographing weddings. I've photographed a little over 50 weddings and can therefore say that I enjoy it. The excitement of the bride and groom, the nervousness just before the ceremony, the relief when they say "I do", the closeness when taking photos of the couple, the ecstatic celebration until the bouquet is thrown or the wedding cake is cut.
Wedding photography is a very simple profession for photographers: the bride pays the make-up artist, the company is in a good mood, the bride and groom are happy with the pictures. The bride and groom's emotional connection to the pictures of the day is so strong that they will like the photos.
Wedding photography is an extremely complex topic for photographers: you put a lot of work into the preparation and discussions with the bride and groom in order to adapt individually to the two happy couples, you are on your feet for many hours on the wedding day and you have to work with high concentration and yet inconspicuously, always to be on guard at the right time, to have the right angle to capture the important moments.
Personally, what I enjoy most is making the bride and groom's love for each other visible. Every person is different and every couple has something different in common. I really enjoy taking photos and adjusting to this and letting my creativity run wild.
That's why it's particularly important to me that the chemistry between me and the bride and groom is right. I can't take beautiful photos if I don't have a relationship with the bride and groom. The bride and groom cannot relax and be photographed if they are annoyed by the photographer - in the worst case scenario. My way of accompanying a wedding photographically is called wedding reportage. I spend 10 hours or more with the bride and groom on their wedding day and accompany them with my cameras. Later, the newly married couple will have documentation of their wedding day in their hands and can therefore always keep the memory of the special day fresh.
Very apt and beautifully worded! 🙂
Nodding my head in agreement, I sit in front of your beautiful blog post.
I can only agree with Karlis and Pablo. Great post 🙂
