duel duel

Finally Monday …

... because then I can slowly look forward to the next home game again...

After the game, I was just packing up my photography equipment when the team thanked the fans for their support and received warm applause from the numerous spectators. Someone near me shouted "Boo!". Not a long drawn-out sound, but a short one - perhaps the kind you might imagine a heavy smoker would use. A female voice asked something that was drowned out by the applause of the crowd. I heard the "Boo" voice say soothingly that they were professionals. Then another short "Boo!". I stopped packing up and looked in the direction of the voice. There stood a man - probably in his early 50s - wearing everything the fan shop had to offer five years ago. Now I saw him shouting "Boo!". I had the feeling that I was the only one hearing him shout. I spoke to him: "What are you doing?" Gesticulating, he answered me angrily: "I paid €50 for the ticket and I have to look at such rubbish. They could play for another three hours and still not score a goal!” I reply calmly: “And booing helps?” Now he gets really angry: “I paid €50 and drove 600km!” “Oh,” I reply dryly, “please don’t ever go to that trouble again.” A woman in civilian clothes, who probably heard the female voice from the beginning of my listening, gently pulls him away. “I won’t either,” the man calls out to me as he walks away.

  1. then he should go to HSV or F95. He can whistle at his own players at the top of his lungs with many other like-minded people and feel really great about it. Because it's so easy to equate money with good performance... oO

  2. ahha… time and money invested… I have to get something for that…
that must be real love 🙁
but I don't understand anything about it anyway, just like football and booing
