Don't mess with Ebbers

Some ideas only seem crazy at first glance.

After the game from FC St. Pauli against Arminia Bielefeld developed in various internet forums due to the accident Shot by Christopher Nöthe a discussion about strikers in brown and white uniforms and their skills. Then one of the most successful goalscorers that FC St. Pauli has had to date joined the discussion and posted on Facebook a momentous contribution. He wanted to recreate the situation and give people the opportunity to put the ball in the net in a similar situation to Christopher Nöthe - the shooter should pay €25 for every missed shot, and Marius Ebbers would pay €50 for every hit. All for a good cause, of course, Viva con Agua should benefit from the campaign.

Well, it turned out differently, but still great. The people who were the first to shout "here!" on Facebook didn't even show up when Marius Ebbers invited people to the "Don't mess with Ebbers" event on Saturday evening on the SC Sternschanze artificial turf pitch. Instead, many other guests came in good spirits and many joined the crowd of donors - because most of them didn't make it.

Overall, once again a wonderfully successful campaign for Viva con Agua. Thanks to the many donations from the shooters and non-shooters present, as well as additional donations from Elton (no, not John, but the one from TV), over four and a half thousand euros were raised. In about an hour, with lots of laughter and fun, a lot of money was raised for a good cause. It's nice to see that several hundred people come to such an event and pay €25 to touch the ball.

It also became abundantly clear that it is much easier to "honk" on the Internet than to keep your word in real life - and to get a ball into a relatively large square with a net. Perhaps an event like this will ensure that the support from the fans at Millerntor becomes even greater. Especially when things aren't going well for the team on the pitch.

  1. Thanks a lot for the nice pictures! And thanks to Ebbe for the great campaign, he is and remains part of the big Pauli family.

    Force!

  2. @Stefan: Why are you not allowed to say "Pauli" in certain circles? Am I not allowed to call MY club what I want? In the past, the term "FC" was even used, but in the late 1980s, when I joined the club, "Pauli" was said everywhere. How come some people even take an aggressive attitude towards me when I speak the way I know and will continue to speak? I would really be interested to know that.

    1. Firstly, the Springer press always writes "Pauli" and secondly, that is the name of the mole from the show "Sendung mit der Maus". The football club, on the other hand, is called the same as the district: Sankt Pauli.

      1. Aha, so it's absolute nonsense to insist on that. Thank you for the answer and the assurance that I can continue to say Pauli.

  3. Haha

Rarely have I read anything more stupid than not “Pauli family – but Sankt Pauli family”.

Nice unmasking as a black and white thinking lightweight..
