Christmas gifts for photographers

There is a perception that it is almost impossible to give photographers inexpensive Christmas gifts. Most of the equipment that photographers carry around actually costs half a fortune. Sometimes it's just the wrong shop. This is how much a simple one costs Lightning TTL cable in the original Nikon Store significantly more than on Amazon, for example. I would definitely choose the SC-29 as a "first cable" over the SC-28, because it has an infrared sensor on the hot shoe and thus enables sharp images with the flash off-camera even in total darkness. A really useful additional feature!

But there are other gifts for photographers that can of course not only be given at Christmas.

A very versatile tool for getting better images with speedlights is the so-called FlashBender by Rogue. This thing has the advantage that the flash area is enlarged and the flash light is therefore softer. Doesn't make a frog a king, but for reportage photography it often brings µ more. It can also be shaped as a spot or ensure that no direct flash light falls on the object to be photographed. I have already I showed an example a while ago.

By the way, the FlashBender was originally designed by the photographer David Honl. These are the next two products that I can highly recommend. The Lightning foil set is actually the best thing I have ever bought in this area. You use it on the flash with the strap, which also has the advantage that it leaves no traces on the flash when you no longer need the foils. The flash foil set contains the most important foils for color correction of flash light. And twice as much. In great, solid quality. I use the foils really intensively and haven't had to replace any yet.

So, if you still don't have anything for your photographer friend for the next opportunity to give out gifts, just take one Umbrella tilter. Always works 🙂
