bye

In Hamburg they say goodbye! It hasn't happened as often as yesterday Millerntor goodbye said and said goodbye. About the season, about deserving players, about the back straight - and I believe there will be a few more farewells during the summer break. The face of the team and the club will change for the new season change so much, like it hasn't been for a long time. This separation pain was felt again and again yesterday.

Maybe that's why the supposed interim results from Düsseldorf turned out this way celebrated orgiastically, because it nurtured the hope of delaying the farewell by 180 minutes. But that's football: the emotional ups and downs are very close together.

And so it hurts me when I... the eyes of trusting players I have to look - and this time I had to do it particularly often. Thank you Carsten Rothenbach, thank you Deniz Naki for your time at Millerntor!

There won't be one next season either Back straight give more. At least not this old one Breeding ground for St. Pauli fans, who socialized so many of us. I also had my first season ticket here. And how I loved it when watching the match on TV afterwards, when the TV images shook so much when the goal was celebrated that it made you sick.

As a small thank you to the back straight and its people, I have something from yesterday choreography I made a 10-image panorama that you can see in decent quality download here (around 7MB).

  1. […] It was beautiful, and even from the back straight, it was very atmospheric. Black cloths, sparklers, giant cardboard cutouts making dejected faces as they said goodbye. Unfortunately, the black cloths are barely visible in the photos, but they stay in our minds. Thanks to the Alte Schule and Ostblock Sankt Pauli for their effort and preparation. MagischenFC and Stefan Groenveld have some fantastic panoramic photos of it. […]
