Portraits for yourfone

A few weeks ago I took employee portraits of a company that didn't even exist at the time. One nice task, because such images have a completely different effect. They are not just portraits, they also build a profile for the company. What was wanted were young, fresh images, friendly, serious, unique. I recommended heavily cropped, landscape format photos because such business portraits are usually in portrait format.

That's on Tuesday Company has now been launched, the launch will be celebrated this evening. The pictures can be found at xing and a few also on the Company news page. I'm sure there's more to come.

I can show you a picture here, even though it wasn't included in yourfone's portfolio. It shows Bjorn, the IT manager at yourfone. The official images are of course in color, but I find the black and white version more appropriate.

My Light setup I already had it on when I took the portraits my Facebook page posted. A Saberstrip is behind that Sunbounce hidden - both Saberstrips bring even light to the background, which is why they are just as useful. Mine Profoto system A medium softbox brings good, clear light from diagonally in front, while the sunbouncer defines the shadows from behind. The rest is patience and communication 🙂

  1. Hi Stefan,
very nice concept - I think the development is really good in black and white too... But for the colored ones on the company side, I think the red color channel could be toned down a bit. I think the skin would be a bit nicer then...
From the lighting setup and image editing, a really great and clean series & good source of inspiration 🙂

    Thanks greetings,
    Luck.

  2. Something else. I think it's good that the photos don't look like normal business photos. Not so stiff :)
I like black and white better too.

  3. Thank you very much for your insight into many things. I'm only a hobby photographer, but I think your way of capturing pictures is great. Nice site and I hope you keep it up. Kind regards, Joe Guest
