Interview in FotoPRO

I already have one for sports photography to be there or else. Interview given. But now for the first time for a print magazine – fotoPRO. This was first published and has probably scanned half the blogosphere for photographic topics. Paddy for example, has something to do with it Wedding photography written.

I was immediately asked about the interview on Twitter.

Nice interview in fotoPRO, @rim_light

And Karlis was kind enough to take a photo of the interview from the newspaper for me. Thanks!

To be honest, I found the questions a bit uninspired and superficial, but I hope I was still able to formulate reasonable answers.

  1. Hello Stephan

These two statements of yours “stuck” with me.

Question: Are there certain sports for which you really need professional equipment? Answer: I think it depends on your own requirements. But during a children's triathlon I already experienced that the autofocus of my colleague's Sigma lens could no longer keep up.

Arrogant troublemaker 😉 But I see it the same way! Let's leave out the very, very expensive lenses 2/200, 2,8/300, 2,8/400, 4/500/600. I would NEVER, NEVER think of swapping my 2,8/70-200 VR I for a Sigma/Tamron if it was really too old at some point. Then there would ALWAYS be a VR II! And at 300 mm I would probably use an old AF-ED Nikkor with rod drive, rather than the 2,8/300 Sigma, which is of course much more modern in terms of paper form. Although the 2,8/120-300 Sigma in particular seems very tempting... Or my alternative when there is a lot of light: 4/300 AF-ED rods Nikkor. Squeaks terribly in M-focus mode, but focuses on the point in AF . Also on basketball players in a very bright hall: ISO 4000, f/4 1/1000s…

Apart from this. Try selling a Sigma, Tamron if you are not at all satisfied. I'm not talking about just selling, but about loss of value...

    I'll sign immediately!

    Regards
