11 friends! Yeah!

Sometimes it's worth it soccer game to have his eyes off the field too. This is what happened in the game of FC St. Pauli against Dynamo Dresden. And very rarely one has to Image theft not be bad at all. That's what happened with the Facebook group "Legalize office technology". Both cases combined resulted in my second publication in the magazine for football culture "11 Freunde", but the first under my name. But one after anonther…

At the Sankt Pauli game against Dresden I suddenly saw this in the main stand under the banner workshop box Transparent “Office technology is not a crime,” he said with a smile and took a photo. Shortly afterwards, the banner was gone. Of course, this is not something for a newspaper, so I did not send it to the editors, but posted it on my blog. I then noticed it by chance on Facebook and became curious, wanted to know who was “reusing” my picture. There is actually a Initiative by fans of the sixth division team TeBe Berlin with the wonderful verbal parody "Office technology is not a crime". For the non-football fans who read my blog: the parodied initiative is called "Pyrotechnics is not a crime". I think that's wonderful because it draws attention in a humorous way to a problematic way of dealing with each other - in this case the DFB and the fans. I also like Stork Heinar.

In such cases, I am always very cautious when it comes to image theft - and the use of my image by the initiative on Facebook was no different - because the Art exists on both sides of the picture: without initiative there is no banner to photograph, without my attention there is no picture of the banner. So wrote a friendly comment about the lack of copyright proof – I'm really a nice guy, even if YouTube sees it differently – and an apology immediately came and the credit was made up. Everything totally relaxed!

The surprise came a few months later when I had an editor from “11 Freunde” on the phone. They had become aware of the initiative and had a discussion with the initiator. Interview and urgently needed a picture. Then the initiator brought me into the game. And so it came my photo into the magazine.

Conclusion: an open eye and friendliness pays off 🙂

  1. And when I read the article I just asked myself why it was written about TeBe all the time, but then a photo of the Millerntor was shown.
