So now the iPhone 4s, whose camera I could already read that it was installed video chip could probably record 4K video, but then the iPhone would grill - the system requirements are simply too high for this high-resolution video format. Apple has instead decided to provide the film camera with anti-shake protection. And to be honest: I would have expected more from it. Here's a quick pan over the Binnenalster.
iPhone 4S test video – click makes big!
But the photo function! Age! I already found it iPhone4 camera pretty decent, but the new one with 8 megapixels and new optics is really a blast. The camera is available quickly, the shutter lag is great and the autofocus is good in normal lighting situations, but disorientating when backlit. Converted to 32,5mm format, the lens probably corresponds to a 15mm f/XNUMX.
Below are a few pictures, all unedited, straight from the camera...er...the phone. (Hence long loading times – the images are 2 to 3,2MB in size.)
Street photographers will be happy. Good thing I didn't buy an X100...
So after the announcement I actually tended to take a closer look at the x10. But after the improvements of the 4S camera were shown, it was clear to me: Nope, not another camera. iPhone will do.
I haven't been able to test it yet, but I'm glad you've come to this conclusion too. Mine is still synchronizing and hopefully I'll be able to enjoy it soon.
I think you don't use enough smileys. As if the iPhone camera could match the quality of the X100. The phone is more handy though and it has these lovely Leica-like "bumper things". 😉
However, the quality isn't that much worse - see also http://www.stefangroenveld.de/2011/iphone-bild-mailcheck/
