First of all, I went to the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue across from Central Park quite early today. As expected, the very friendly Ben at the Genius Bar got my computer running again. Yeah! So today there are real pictures in this blog post and no more iPhone/Hipstamatic – like yesterday. There was probably just something wrong with the OSX on my Macbook.
Afterwards we went to Macy's because my sweetheart really wanted to buy a coat. And where better to get a coat at this time of year than in what is probably the largest department store in the world. Macy's is something like Peek & Cloppenburg on the floor space of a double Ikea with the charm of Woolworth - on nine floors. And it's completely normal to hear Spanish, Japanese, German and so on voices there. Honestly - completely "overwhelming". After four floors of aimless walking around in one of the two halves of the store, I finally dared to ask a friendly cashier about coats. At Macy's there are only well-hidden, rough signs. In any case, we would never have found the coats - who would have thought they were on the 4th floor in the other building...
In any case, hundreds of coats piled up on the floor - only women's coats, of course. After what felt like 2 hours of trying on coats, we bought a Hilfiger for $80 (approx. €60).
The multitude of interesting buildings was also "overwhelming" during our walks. The mixture of old and new, tall and small, is really beautiful. Here I realize that I am not an architecture photographer, because I cannot manage to capture this mixture properly in the picture.

New York... that brings back memories! Great photos, and with "overwhelming" you have found exactly the right word for the feeling that comes over you in this city 🙂
By the way, I was there last summer too, maybe you would like to look at the pictures on my blog (here and here)… I would be happy 😉
Very nice pictures and I can still remember the beautiful city very well at exactly the same time last year ;). Really beautiful and impressive. I can only recommend Rockefeller Center (Top of The Rocks) at sunset, great view. Pictures if interested here.
Cool photos, especially this vintage escalator is really good.
