At the same time, it's not particularly easy to photograph a photographer because they naturally look particularly critically at the creation and the end product - especially when it comes to their own likeness.
It's not for nothing that I have for my own wedding pictures Ryan Brenizer chosen as photographer 🙂
Now I wanted to have new profile pictures of myself - and I was and am very happy that my esteemed colleague Christine Lutz agreed to create my new pictures. She didn't hesitate for a second to say yes, even though I can imagine easier jobs than taking photos of me...
The goal was to create a simple portrait for Twitter, Google+, Facebook and whatever other social web derivatives there are, a nice picture to help me in my work Wedding photographer and a dynamic image that should be on the contact page on my website that will be created at some point.
The photo session in Christine's cozy studio was very relaxed and we had a lot of fun together. And Christine didn't lose her cool when I smashed one of her remote releases. Just a professional...
The result is the following three pictures, which I am personally very happy with. How do you like me in the pictures?
...the shirt pops badly!
The third photo is top notch!
The second has something like “want to buy a camera?”, the third is nice and sporty, but I like the first one best. 🙂
1 and 3 🙂
It's always easy to complain, especially when you do it from a distance or just have to write here in the comment. But you certainly want the honest opinion:
In the first picture, your hair and your jacket are too much for me. I think taking a picture like that without hairlight is borderline.
In the second picture I think the gray background is too muddy and the line at the bottom needs to be removed.
The third picture is in my opinion the best of the series, above all a very good idea!
What I notice about all three is your slightly strange skin color, it seems a bit too magenta to me.

Thank you Jochen for your comments.
I made a mistake with the second image and uploaded the wrong file - it has now been corrected.
So my favorite is definitely the jumping image.
The third picture is my favorite. Because it expresses how I got to know you. Passionate photographer, dynamic, doesn't always take himself seriously and is simply likeable.
Clearly: number 3. This also corresponds most closely to my impression of you: Always on the trigger!
the jump photo is the best!
The third photo is cool.
In the second one, the mouth is so, well, pinched, looks a little strained. You can do better.
And in the first one I'm missing a Rim Light (The man who came from the darkness) 😉 The facial expression is great though, but I can overlook it (and the crooked glasses too)
First of all, congratulations to Christine Lutz. Taking photos of a photographer in a way that makes them happy is certainly not that easy. And even if I have something to complain about now, the most important thing is that YOU are satisfied.
Picture 3 is great.
Picture 2 is also good, a bit very well-behaved, but as a wedding photographer it makes exactly the right impression.
I don't think picture 1 is ideal in terms of craftsmanship. In my eyes, dark hair and a dark jacket in front of a dark HG need a sidelight.
Greetings Michael
Thank you for your detailed comment.
In picture 1 it was clear that it would only appear relatively small - I think there doesn't necessarily have to be a side light. Basically you are of course right!
My clear FAV is number 3, that rocks. 😉
As already written above, I also miss a slight rimlight on the #1. 😉
