Three points greetings from the banana republic of Rostock

I like to go to Rostock when FC St. Pauli plays there. Not only because there is guaranteed to be something to talk about, but also because afterwards I know exactly why, deep in my heart brown-white am rooted.

And not just because the trip with the special train fan shop was once again like a larger family outing. Or because the police work was mostly received and commented on in a friendly and humorous way. I even discovered uniformed men who had difficulty suppressing their laughter.

But at the latest when around half of the Rostock fans chant “gay, gay, gay” in the stadium and believe that this can be used to belittle opposing players and fans, I know that this arena is stuck in the dark ages. Action Libero is probably necessary. (EDIT: completely forgot about this fitting answer of a Sankt Pauli fan to link to the homophobic sayings and gestures. I would like the symbol as a banner for the second leg...)
And why a supposedly modern bank would give this playing area its name is also a mystery to me.

However, that was the absolute negative highlight Firing flare ammunition and Bird scare from Rostock fans into the guest block - and the broad support of the remaining spectators with cheers and applause. Fortunately, there are still people who are so proud of this performance that they do it film and publish on YouTube.

And yes, I know that too Saint Pauli fans There were people who could have behaved differently. And yes, I also know nice people from Rostock. No question. But the mass of ugly reactions is very thought-provoking.

And I know again why I'm standing here...

  1. It's a shame, no photos of the St.Pauli fans' pyrotechnics? At least they know how to deal with it and don't throw it around.

  2. I am of the opinion that the game should have been stopped when the score was 1-0 for Pauli. End. Sure, it would have been stupid for the Paulif fans to only see one half, but only consistently. I really got shivers down my spine when I saw those Civil War scenes. The applause (!) from the surrounding supporters finished me off. License revocation or something… unbelievable.
    Greetings from a Mönchengladbacher.
