Winter sports on green grass

I have no problem with bad weather at all, because one of my mottos is: "bad weather makes for good pictures"! However, snow or rain require exposure times of 1/250s or longer to be properly displayed. Unfortunately, for sports you need at least 1/640s or shorter to be able to capture the movement well. The two don't go together and that's why bad weather looks like sensor dirt or dirty lenses in pictures.

During the HSV game against VfL Wolfsburg, I tried for a while to take action photos with a longer exposure time so that I could capture the snowfall adequately. It remained an attempt because somehow the right thing wasn't happening close enough in front of my lens. And the activities far away from me have too much snow between me and the athlete - which then looks kind of stupid.

What else was there? A new coach at VfL Wolfsburg and therefore lots of photographers who wanted a picture of him. A new star at HSV who was sitting far away and was only photographed by me out of documentary duty - a picture like this "man sitting in the stands and watching" is not really worth showing.

The only really emotional situation was Marcell Jansen's shot on goal, which was rightly disallowed due to being offside, but of course he still celebrated at first and then didn't understand why he of all people should have been offside. I can understand that I would have preferred to see that the ball had really been in there legally, because it was cheering so beautifully right in front of my lens. Well, you can't always win - which also applies to the game itself...
