My test of my AF-S 200mm f/2 with the new 2x converter TC-20 E III from Nikon was also successful. I also had the old converter, but it never really convinced me. Too soft when the aperture is open and too slow for sports. Yesterday I was able to see that the new converter's sharpness is impressive even when the aperture is open. Just look at the first two pictures, they were taken with the lens-converter combination at an open aperture. By the way, the picture by Heiner Brand was taken at ISO6400.
