THW Kiel initially showed why they had been one of Europe's top teams for so long. They were so dominant and almost arrogant that they scored points far too easily and were leading by 4 goals at times. But then something happened that always fascinates me in handball: the last 10 minutes. I find it incredible what physical and, above all, psychological strength top teams can mobilize towards the end of a game. This time it was HSV, in the person of Marcin Lijewski, who scored the winning goal three seconds before the end - while I had already been thinking for twenty seconds: "Now someone finally throw the thing in..."
In a highly dramatic handball game, HSV wins a home game against THW Kiel again after 7 years. HSV was only ahead for three seconds in this top game in the Handball Bundesliga. But since it was the last three seconds, HSV was able to win the match 26:25.
Great pictures from a great game (unfortunately with the wrong winner... but as the saying goes, "in the end the duck shits...")!
My favorite is number 13, great symbolic photo!
