Freezers win against the runner-up

Before the Freezers play against Ingolstadt this evening, here are the pictures from the last ice hockey match to get you started. Last Friday, the Hamburg Freezers defeated the reigning runner-up Augsburger Panther 2-1 after a great defensive performance.

By the way, I won't be at the game in the o2 World tonight because I've changed agencies and will be photographing less sports in the future. The change was urgently necessary because, although I still love photographing sports, I'm fortunately also being booked more and more for portraits, events, weddings, etc. My blog title has always said "sports and portrait photographer from Hamburg" for a good reason because I photograph both areas with equal passion. At the end of a long wedding assignment, for example, showing the bride and groom some pictures of the day on my laptop and looking at their happy faces is also incredibly satisfying. But unfortunately my day only has 24 hours. In addition, the working conditions and the terms and conditions for my assignment at the new agency are better than at the old one - so it made twice as much sense for me to change. For those who are interested: I will be photographing sports for inside picture.

But here are the promised ice hockey pictures. And tomorrow I'll be at HSV handball.

  1. Hello Stefan
I wanted to ask you! About your settings with the D4 for ice hockey
I take my photos with the following setting!!
    D4 / Nikkor 70-200 VII
    1) White balance with gray card with full exposure of the ice surface
    2)Time: 800-1000 / Aperture:2,8 /3,3 / ISO: 1600-2000 /
    3)AF-C / Shutter Priority / AUTOFOCUS 21 / 10 frames per sec / LOK ON OFF /

My problem is !!! With this setting I often get the focus wrong (out of 20 pictures 8 off)
What am I doing wrong !!!!???
