The interesting lighting conditions in the Color Line Arena in Hamburg make things even more difficult. If you take series photos, you can observe the phenomenon that the color temperature of the images changes constantly. The automatic white balance doesn't help either. The human eye is slow enough not to notice the change in color temperature in the hall. With the short exposure times that I need for sports photography in the hall, the change and the different red components in the light become so clear that I sometimes only have to edit the images for this aspect.
I find it exciting that this effect does not occur in handball, even though the sport takes place in the same hall. Obviously, other light sources are used.
Back to the game: 6 to 0 against the weak Straubing Tigers and Hamburg already has three league leaders (soccer 1st and 2nd league, as well as ice hockey). Let's see how this sporting year develops...
